This office is extremely unprofessional. I have had my appointment canceled numerous times by Dr. Lisa Evans. She cancels your apt continuously at the last minute with no respect for your time and reschedules it. Then you come to the rescheduled time and then are made to wait for over an hour usually for the new time. The staff is extremely unprofessional and rude. When you call, you are normally made to wait on hold for anywhere from 10-15 minutes on hold and then when you ask why there was such a long wait they laugh back at you. They are very sarcastic and rude. I have never been treated so disrespectfully before at a doctors office. Rachel in particular at this doctors office was extremely rude on the phone. I have been in HR Management for years and would never recommend her in customer service.
After seeing some poor reviews, I felt compelled to write. I have been with Dr. Lisa Evans for many years and have always been very happy with her and her staff. I do think this office went through some transitions about a year ago and I do remember some staff members who were not overly helpful. This might be why there were some poor reviews. My recent experience was excellent and a friend who I referred felt the same.
The WORST experience with a doctors office Ive ever had. The office management and receptionists are extremely rude. Rachel is beyond rude over the phone, and has horrible customer service training. I was talked down to over the phone, yelled at, and my opinions were truly undermined. I was told this is ridiculous I dont have time to talk to you, you arent medically educated or trained, among many other things. They refused to send over my lab results (which is a service that they provide via an online portal), probably because they want me to come in for an office visit just to get their check from the insurance company. Its truly a shame because Pippa Cobb, the nurse practitioner, is extremely sweet and helpful.Overall just horrible. They also call you with your lab results saying, We got your lab results in, and we see stuff that concerns us, but we cant tell you what that is and you just have to wait until we have an appointment available. Im sorry, but you dont call customers (especially new patients) like this with results that arent normal.
The outrageous reviews of this place are absolutely insulting to who they are as a practice. This is by far the best place, and having Dr. Simpkins take care of my mother over the last 5 years has been the best decision we have ever made. The front office staff and back office staff are both the best you will find anywhere. Always polite and courteous, even with the most difficult patients.
I have been going to Boca Integrative Health for several years now. I have seen Dr. Evans for my yearly checkups and recently went to Dr. Crooks when I was sick. Both took the time to listen to my concerns and gave me the best possible treatment. This office cares about their patients and it shows! The office staff is friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend this office.
I had a new patient appointment at 8am. I got in at 7:45 to fill out paperwork. I knocked on the window to give the office staff my insurance card and ID, however, without even opening the window they asked me to find a seat. They did not open the window until 8am. I was the first patient in the office, however, after 8:52, the doctor was still not there. I have been fasting due to flood work needed and requested the first appointment for this reason. Very disappointed with their consideration for payiemt’s time. I understand emergencies happen, however, nobody even came to let me know that the doctor was running late. Hopefully the doctor is better than the office scheduling/front desk.
HORRIBLE. I scheduled an appointment a few weeks ago to get a well check up. I took off work, I showed up 15 minutes before my appointment and they wouldnt see me because they said I should have been there 30 minutes prior to my appointment but I was NEVER told this when I made the appointment. I am a registered nurse and I never treat patients the way the woman at the front desk spoke to me. I will not reschedule...I have really good insurance...their loss.
I rushed out of work in order to get to their office on time (I was 10 minutes early) and I sat in the empty waiting room for an hour. After an hour I asked the receptionist how much longer it would be. She replied that my doctor has been an hour behind all day long. My suggestion is that the doctor and he staff should consider the value of their patients time as much as they do their own. If they did, they would have had the courtesy to call me and alert me that the doctor was running an hour behind. I then wouldnt have left work an hour early and they wouldnt have lost a patient.
Absolutely horrible experience with Dr Lisa Evans and her practice at Boca Integrated Health in general. The staff is very unprofessional. A lot of times when you call in they do not answer. Ive waited on hold for over 35 minutes on the phone just to have it hang up on me. The doctors assistant was very noticeably high on drugs - stumbling around, slurring speech, and making jokes about my medical history. All of this was forgivable but when I tried to explain a real issue to Dr Lisa Evans she patronized me and took it as a complete joke. This is not what I would expect from a professional in the industry. They are also very pushy to get you to buy their products and take their in-house labs that you dont even need. My recommendation is to stay far away from this practice and Dr Lisa Evans.
I have been a patient of Boca Integrative Health for 10 years. The Staff is friendly,helpful and very responsive from scheduling appointments,coordinating my care with other specialized doctors and quickly booking my follow up appointment to receive lab results. This office really excels in quality healthcare requiring you to have in person visit for lab results so that the dr can answer all of your questions and make specific recommendations to improve your health . I appreciate this extra effort by the drs to educate me to be in the best possible health.
4 years later .... I am still a patient, and when it comes to my continued patient care with Dr. Crooks, I couldnt be happier! Many conversations have been had about my health. Dr. Crooks, more often then not, is the person I turn too. It means a great deal that I can depend on her when in time of need.(I posted this review originally 12/4/2016, also posted on Yelp): I wanted to make it a point to add a review for Dr. Rene Crooks after my last visit. I was in her office for an annual checkup. However, there were a few other medical issues that I needed to discus with her. She listened with a compassionate heart, didnt rush me and her professional advice gave me great comfort. This, combined, with her relaxed and kind demeanor, gives me peace of mind that I have a wonderful and reliable primary care physician. p.s. The staff at Boca Integrative Health are wonderful as well! Recently, there was a prescription mix up (my fault, not theirs!). A great gal, Julie, helped me. She took the time to resolve the problem that same day. I was more than pleased! p.s.s. The address noted in Google is incorrect. She is, however, still located in Boca Raton.
Do not go to this practice they only care about $$$ Horrible went in for an issue had an appointmeny and was never seen. Like wow.... Was not advised I needed a new cc on file they have a cc on file mind you that hasn’t expired nor was I advise they need another one or to bring in same one and didn’t have a card with me and they refused to see me and I have insurance and they have a cc on file?!$& I have never not paid them in the over 12 years I’ve been going to them. Been going to this dr for years and slowly over time seen it grow and the during the growth of this practice they forgot to put the client first. The women working front desk claimed she was also the manager as I requested to speak with the manager and the doctor as this all seem crazy. How many credit cards and insurance cards does someone need on file to see a doctor?!$&
Ive been going to see Dr. Lisa J Evans for years and Im beyond thankful for her. She is a great doctor and takes care of all my needs, listens and gives great help and knowledge. From my depression to high cholesterol, that now I have under control thanks to Dr. Evans. Highly recommend. 5 stars. Lukas :)
My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Jodi Simkins for several years. The office is comfortable and inviting; the staff are professional, courteous and helpful, and Dr. Simkins is easy to talk to, listens carefully, and takes a measured approach to any course of treatment. What more could we ask for!
Worst office and staff. Last time I went, I had to wait about 2 hours past my appt time to get in to see the doctor and spent 10 minutes ,if that , with Dr. Crooks. When I complained as I was paying my bill, people that worked there agreed with me how awful it is being run. While there I got a 30 day prescription that is now 90 days ago. They want me to come in to get the refill, which I wouldnt mind if I could pick it up at the desk, but, I have to pay my office visit $35 to see the doctor to get the prescription (that is , of course , after waiting an hour or two past my appointment time and seeing her for 5 minutes).It sounds like a pill clinic to me.
Everyone that I came in contact with.....front office, Corey taking vitals, Anita nurse practitioner and Deena taking blood were wonderful. Not a stressed office, lots of humor and as much time as was needed. It was an unexpected pleasure to stumble into this practice!
Today I just had bloodwork done at Integrative Health. The phlebotomists are always so engaging and really excel in customer service. Getting blood drawn is not pleasant for most people but they certainly have a way of getting it done right the first time, in a clean environment with a smile.
Worst doctors Ive ever been too. Ive seen both Dr.Crooks and Dr.Simkins. They are both dismissive and always glancing at their watch. Dr. Simkins treats medical conditions that are hard to diagnose as something that is in your head and does not work to get to the bottom of the issue. The wait time once you get into a room is over 2 hours most of the time and when you make a remark the office staff gets irritated about it. The experience Ive had here is exactly the opposite of what I was looking for in a good doctors visit. Zero care and zero compassion. Ill be taking my business elsewhere
I was seen at this office in the beginning of April 2017 as a new patient. The woman at the front desk (I do not remember her name but she was nice) swiped my debit card for my co-pay at her computer and informed me the charge did not go through and had to go to another computer and successfully charged my card. After I checked my statement I noticed the original swipe of my card had gone through and they had double charged my card for the co-payment. Okay, I thought this wouldnt be a problem Ill just call the office and have them reverse it. Well, since then have left the billing department FOUR voicemails (without a single call back) and have sent a copy of my bank statement and received no follow up outside of two emails where I asked for someone to please call me with no success.The double charge of the co-pay is not the problem it is the principal of the way everything was being handled. I understand mistakes happen and this could easily be fixed if someone would take the time and call me. The lack of follow up is unreal. If it were the opposite way around and I owed the office $30.00 Im sure I would have no issue at all with talking to someone from the billing department. I will never go to this office again because they do not care about the patient/customer and have no issue with tying up peoples hard earned money.
Waited almost 2 months trying to get an appointment. i explained that it was semi urgent each time and each time i was assured they’d get back to me within 24hrs. i never heard back from them. i finally gave up and called a different place and had an appointment scheduled within minutes. avoid this place if you have ANY other options. very disappointed.
The staff is great and great customer service, BUT my wife and I will never go back to this facility.I believe how this company operates for the review of my results is very SHADY and completely UNETHICAL. The team scared me into believing I had a health risk and that it was needed for me to come in and review my results. There is NOTHING wrong and I spent $35 on a COPAY and canceled company meetings in order to be there. Let alone the thoughts that were going through my head. Also, the unethical part of charging my insurance for a visit that was completely unnecessary.They manipulate the system and the customer, in order for them to make more money and that is completely unethical. I am very ashamed of what happened and will never bring any business to them.
Dr. Simkins is wonderful but the office management is aweful. They made me come into refill a prescription that Ive been taking for over 10 years after I had just been in less than 3 months ago. Money hungry practice. This is the reason Healthcare is so expensive. Kept me in waiting room for 1 hour and examination room for 15 minutes. An aweful experience.
Despite Dr. Crooks being an adequate physician, that office is so beyond incompetent and disorganized. Every time I need a prescription refilled it is a nightmare. The office cannot seem to coordinate with my compound pharmacy, which does everything on their end that they can. It takes at least 7 different phone calls between the two offices to figure out why a refill request form from my pharmacy (for a medication that I pre-approved with Dr. Crooks) cannot be approved in time. I usually try to refill my prescriptions a week before they run out, and it is always a down-to-the-wire situation because of how difficult it is to get simple approval for my vital thyroid medication (that has not changed in 3 years, and is validated by recent blood tests, and verbally approved by my doctor for refill). Though I appreciate Dr Crooks, I am seriously considering switching doctors because of how absolutely unacceptable this is. It should take a maximum of two phone calls - one to my pharmacy and one to my doctors office - in order to refill a prescription. This is the second time I have broken down in tears because of how impossible it is to get them to coordinate in a competent way with my pharmacy. I cannot keep doing this every three months.
Worse doctors office experience EVER! Bathroom was horribly dirty as well as the doctors office room. Medical devices were just laying around no hand soap. Nurse was rude and didnt even take my temperature. Then the doctor came in and was even worse than the environment. Dont ever see Dr. Diovana Crooks! I was there because I have been ill and had developed a rash which I told the nurse and the doctor both. She check me out (ears, nose, breathing) and said nothing is wrong with you I can give you some and sits in her chair. I said what about my rash?!?! Rudely she say oh, ok let me have a look at it. With in one second she says oh yeah thats from a virus that is why you feel so bad you have a virus! WTF!!!! Horrible all around, gross facility and worst doctor ever!!!
As an owner of BIH, I know that in the past we had problems with staff and procedure. However, since that time a lot has changed. Staff and service is now excellent. Our doctors, as knowledgeable as they are down-to-earth, are still delivering the same outstanding medicine as always.If you went to BIH and did not completely enjoy the visit in the past, please give us another chance, and let us know of any ways we can improve your experience. Wonderfully skilled doctors. Relaxed ambiance. Always a positive experience. The online patient portal is important to keep track of test results and enhance communication.
If I could give a zero star I would. I made an appointment for a routine annual physical and somehow Im being charged for some other type of visit. Dr. Crooks has the worst attitude I have ever seen from a doctor. She has no concern for her patients health. She is only concerned about how she will charge the patient.
Horrible experience and wouldnt recommend to anyone. Office staff gives out incorrect information and then overcharges you. Spent over 2 weeks trying to resolve a billing issue and keep getting passed off to different people with no one being able to resolve my issue. Save your money and time and go to someone else!! JUST AWFUL.
